“How To Get Attention When You Go To A Party or Nightclub”
Here’s a little trick you can use to attract
more attention when you arrive at a party. Stop at
the door and “wait” there until people turn to you.
I actually learned this trick from an actor.
In the theatre, when an important character gets
onstage, he’ll often stand at the door frame of the
set for a few seconds so that the audience will focus
their attention on him. You can even see it on many
television sitcoms. A sitcom actor will often stop at
the door for a moment before he enters the living room.
So…when you arrive at a party, stop at
the “entrance” to the room where all the action is.
(It may not be the door if there is a long corridor.)
Stand there with a big smile on your face as you check
out the crowd. Make eye contact if people look at you.
Then wave at your friends and approach them boldly.
You can even use the same technique at certain
nightclubs. Take your time and wait by the inner
entrance as your check out the scene. It works on
clubs with an open view.
