“Dating For Workaholics”
If you’re a workaholic who is without a
girlfriend, here’s a bit of advice:
Leave time for your social life, or you’re
NOT going to find a girlfriend any time soon.
As I always say, life is all about priorities.
If you’re a busy person, then your work will always
expand to fill up how ever much time you give your
career. So if you’re a workaholic, leave time for
your social life, and you’re going to find yourself
without any friends (or family) in a few years.
And if you’re currently in a relationship
and you often get accused of not spending enough time
with your girlfriend, think about whether the
accusation has any merits to it. The best way to look
at this is by looking at the character of your partner.
If your partner has any character issues, financial
issues due to bad financial management, or just likes
to play around and do no work, then there’s a
possibility that your partner is complaining just
because you’re not spending 24/7 playing with them.
But if your partner is a reasonable person with a
pretty stable career, then chances are, they might
be right. In that case, go ask others if they think
you’re working too hard, and think about how you
might adjust your lifestyle.
Sit down with your partners and have a good chat.
See how much time they want to spend with you. Make
sure you are talking in the same language. (For
example, “more time” might mean an hour a day to
a person or three hours a day to another person.)
Be flexible and work together to come with a certain
agreement that works for both parties.
As I always say, life is all about priorities.
If you’re a busy person, then your work will always
expand to fill up how ever much time you give your
career. So if you’re a workaholic, it is very
important that you find a way to block off some
time for your relationship, or in a few years,
you may not even have a relationship anymore!
